Alya Insyirah Adri Syahme

Bachelor Student in History and International Studies

Alya Insyirah Binti Adri Syahme is a dedicated student at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in History and International Studies. She has a strong passion for volunteerism, which is evident in her extensive involvement in various leadership roles, including her position as Vice President of Membership and Public Relations at Toastmasters. Alya is committed to making a positive impact through her volunteer work, whether by organizing public speaking workshops, managing social media for advocacy groups, or leading community service initiatives. Her experience reflects a deep commitment to both personal growth and contributing to the betterment of her community.

Min Shen

Lecturer of Mandarin and Intercultural Communication

Dr. Min Shen is a highly esteemed educator, researcher, and author with over 15 years of international experience in language and communication education. She is a Lecturer of Mandarin and Intercultural Communication at UBD and serves as the Deputy Director of the UBD Language Centre, where she supervises the education of various European and Asian languages. Dr. Shen is a leading authority in advancing language programs and educational strategies nationwide. Additionally, she provides expert consultancy to government agencies and multinational enterprises. Her extensive research and publications in English, Chinese, and Malay highlight her dedication to language education and intercultural understanding. Dr. Shen is a key member of several prestigious academic institutions and editorial boards of leading global journals She is well-qualified to assist both individuals and institutions in overcoming communication challenges and enhancing their global communication strategies.

Mohd Aziz Zulazmi Samsudin

Professional Mental Health Counselor

Aziz currently works as a mental health counselor and behavioral coach for a leading mental health tech company in Singapore, while also managing his private counseling practice to ensure accessible mental health services for the community in Brunei Darussalam. He has worked with clients from educational institutions, the corporate world, and the community, both locally and globally. His expertise spans a range of mental health issues, including psychological, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges such as substance abuse, grief, and trauma, to name a few. Throughout his career, Aziz has coordinated professional workshops, delivered lectures, and conducted academic research in psychology, mental health, and personal development. Aziz was also awarded Top Graduate for outstanding performance in his Master's degree in counseling. His dedication to the field is further acknowledged by his opportunity to teach undergraduate courses in counseling at the international level.

Noorfati'ah Nor Hasnul

Masters Student in Applied Economics

Noorfati'ah Nor Hasnul is an aspiring economist currently pursuing her MSc in Applied Economics at Universiti Brunei Darussalam. She holds an academic background in financial economics and banking from the University of Leicester. Her journey is marked by a strong passion for public speaking, leadership activities, and a commitment to international networking. Her diverse experiences include working as a market researcher for a local company in the UK and representing Brunei at various international conferences focused on global issues and cross-cultural collaborations, such as the ASEAN Young Leaders Programme and the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths. A firm believer in a holistic approach to personal and professional growth, She is dedicated to fostering collaborative relationships and envisioning sustainable economic development. As a master’s student and a committed researcher, she is currently exploring the impact of digital transformation.

Paul Lee

tech entrepreneur, co-founder of roiquant and adjunct senior assistant professor at Universiti Brunei Darussalam

Paul Lee is an experienced tech entrepreneur and co-founder of roiquant, a company dedicated to providing affordable analytics and business intelligence solution for early-stage startups. Since its inception, roiquant has empowered founders by offering a comprehensive decision support system that spans offers actionable insights from ideation to competitive analysis to business modeling to prototyping to market validation to risk analysis to data-driven fundraising. Prior to this, Paul held various leadership roles, including founding director positions at WafaGames and ai.Law, and as CEO at Seeway Group, where he provided investment advisory services. He is also an adjunct senior assistant professor at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, where he teaches business intelligence, product management, and digital strategies. With his diverse background and a commitment to supporting underrepresented founders, Paul leverages his extensive experience to foster innovation in the tech industry.

An alumnus of Oxford University’s prestigious executive strategy program, Rajeeshwaran actively contributes to global discourse on innovation, change management, megatrends, and the future of the space economy through his speaking engagements. His independent perspective, shaped by a deep understanding of global trends and strategic agility, equips organizations and individuals to navigate uncertainty and drive sustainable growth.

Scott Valentine

Professor of Entrepreneurship at Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Chairperson of Asia Circular

Prof. Scott Valentine is an internationally reputed author, Professor of Entrepreneurship at Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Chairperson of Asia Circular. Prior to coming to Brunei, he was a Director and Senior Circular Economy Advisor at KPMG and Professor of Regenerative Planning and Circular Economy at Kyushu University in Japan. With over 30 years of diverse international business experience. Prof Valentine provides strategic project advice related to circular economy work to governments and business leaders around the world. He has led major research projects in Denmark, Holland, Japan and Australia around the circular economy with an emphasis on corporate strategy and public policy design and implementation. He represents Standards Australia on international development of an ISO standard for the Circular Economy and serves on the Australian Circular Economy Hub’s advisory board.
